FÜLEKY TOKAJ ESTATE

Füleky Tokaj Estate is a boutique winery in Bodrogkeresztúr village at foot of Tokaj Hill, on the bank of Bodrog River. Bodrogkeresztúr is not only a village of Tokaji wines but a favourite nesting place for storks. One of their wine brands was named of a local existing stork named Fülöp. From the income, they are supporting maintenance of stork nests, creation of stork nest stands and electric insulation to protect birds.

The winery makes well balanced and elegant wines with firm acidity. Füleky wines reflect the vision of the skilled team, the volcanic terroir of their vineyards in Bodrogkeresztúr, Tokaj, Tarcal, Szegi and Mád villages, at eleven different historical “Vineyard Sites” (growth place, cru, tract, etc). Lands are located in the southern part of the Tokaj region.

The beautifully renovated and restored 18th-century Baroque Füleky mansion and the winery are in the centre of Bodrogkeresztúr village, where is located the tomb of the wonder rabbi Reb Steiner Saje. It makes the village a world famous place of pilgrimage. Constructed from local stone, the modern winery that is in keeping with the historic surroundings was voted the Industrial Building of the Year 2011 award in the online poll of ArchDaily com, the world’s most popular architecture website. The winery was named after György Füleky, founder of the First Tokaj Wine Growers’ Society.

Founded in 1998, the estate owns 25 hectares in the best vineyards in the Tokaj wine region, at eleven different locations: Teleki, Vinnai, Bakonyi, Dobai, Mestervölgy, Úrágya, Király, Veresek, Somos, Sajgó, Palandor.

They are constantly experimenting in the vineyard and do everything to get to know their lands’ characteristics and the opportunities they hide within by making single-vineyard wines.

FÜLEKY TOKAJ estate wine, single-vineyard, late harvest and Aszú wines all share balance and elegance. FÜLÖP the Phenomenon, Bodorgkeresztúr’s white stork brand, their second label contains a dry and a late harvest wine.
